Meet Hollis Allen
Hollis Allen, founder and Principal of Cornerstone Civil Engineering, PLLC, faithfully practices stewardship of his skills and resources within his given field. Now based in Norman, Oklahoma, Hollis has over 30 years of experience in civil engineering, through which he has had the opportunity to grow as a leader in and away from the field.
3 Things To Know About Hollis
1. Leadership Experience
At a young age, Hollis learned from his parents that leadership often looked like doing things differently than others and always pursuing the right path. In his work, he understands that it isn’t only experience, but the additions of empathy and understanding that are required to lead. To that end, he completed the Leadership Broken Arrow program to gain a higher level of understanding of community structure and needs, which are qualities he can now apply to projects, large and small.
2. Civil Engineering Background
Having moved away from a traditional firm setting has not lessened Hollis’ desire to stay involved in the field at large. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the American Council of Engineering Companies of Oklahoma, and he has been involved in the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers and the Tulsa and Oklahoma Engineering Foundations. Further, he adheres strictly to the National Society of Professional Engineers’ Code of Ethics, in which all engineers are expected to “hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public,” “act as faithful agents or trustees,” and generally conduct themselves “honorably, responsibly, ethically, and lawfully.”
3. Meeting Clients’ Needs
Hollis’ goal is always to help clients meet their goals and to work with them as partners. Whether that is a simple feasibility study for an expansion or construction documents for a multi-acre campus, Hollis will seek out issues and present options to clients that best fit their needs. Serving with integrity, he will make his best effort to present solutions that are expedient and determine the most economical and efficient way to accomplish the end goal.
Moving Forward in Faith
Hollis is grateful for the experience he gained as part of larger firms, which is invaluable as he seeks to build Cornerstone. His primary goal is for Cornerstone to be a steward to others, treating them like family. He and his wife of 30 years, Lisa, have two grown daughters and have recently welcomed their first grandchild. Hollis’ values as a husband and father are shaped by his faith, which is evident in his goal to serve others. He was ordained as an elder in the Norman Church of Christ in 2018, and his role there and as a Christian affects all areas of his life’s work.
Great companies start with great people. The trajectory of Cornerstone will be high with Hollis Allen at the helm.
Congratulations Hollis! He is a man you can trust to take care of your needs and help where there is a need.
Congratulations on this next step!
